The #HoldOnToTheLight blogging campaign is back for 2018 with new contributors, new posts and a broader reach than ever before!
The campaign features authors and creators blogging about the impact of mental health issues on their work/characters/lives to stand in solidarity with fans and increase fandom’s inclusion. What began within the sci-fi/fantasy community now includes authors from around the world and from a broad range of genres, including romance and horror, as well as podcasters, cosplayers and other creators.
#HoldOnToTheLight is in an effort to raise awareness around treatment for depression, suicide prevention, domestic violence intervention, PTSD initiatives, bullying prevention and other mental health-related issues. We believe fandom should be supportive, welcoming and inclusive, in the long tradition of fandom taking care of its own. We encourage readers and fans to seek the help they or their loved ones need without shame or embarrassment.
